On January 28, 2012, the first hearing on Monsanto was held in Carbondale, Illinois in the teaching courtroom of Southern Illinois University.
Monsanto operates within the letter of the law of our land and often in coordination with the State. We begin to ask in this hearing if there should there be a higher law or moral order?
Testimonies were offered by Moe Parr (above), a seed cleaner who was sued by Monsanto in 2008, Courtney Smith, an organic farmer and many others.
The hearing in Carbondale was sponsored by the SIUC Fine Arts Activity Fee and the Student Activity Fee administered by the Graduate and Professional Student Council and supported by AndAndAnd dOCUMENTA(13)
